Chapter I: The Revelation
Though the moon was full, not even a ray of light shined down on the swamp water below. However, the presence of three
strange people was felt throughout. The first was a bent old robot. His eyes shined an eerie blue, reveling hints of his green
armour. His large propeller glowed an odd purple at the tips, yet the glow was not strong enough to lift the curtain of darkness.
His air controlling wrist bands were inactive, and let loose a dull hum as they sprung to life.
"Sensing trouble?" asked the second presence. This one was a red robot, with parts the resembled that of Protoman.
His kind blue eyes met those of the first presence, and the glow from the old robot's eye showed the younger robot's scars
across his Crashman-like face.
"It's nothing, Crashman Prime," responded the older robot after a long pause, "I just heard something,
that's all."
"You should mind your energy, Gyroman Prime," said the third presence in a voice higher than the other two,
"It's not good for you health."
"Perhaps we could use some light," said a voice that seemed to come from out of the blue.
"Agreed," responded Gyroman Prime, "Trio, if you don't mind."
With that, the swamp became illuminated, reveling the one known as Trio. Her gentle human features were lost in the fact
that her two wings illuminated the swamp. One wing glowed a misty silver, reveling angel feathers. The other shone a dark
purple, reveling demon scales.
When the darkness fully retreated, Trip clasped her hands over her ears, trying to drown out that which could not be drowned
out.
"Reed, Strings!" she pleaded, "please, not now!"
"Very well," said the angel wing, "we'll discuss this matter later, Strings." With that, the two wings
fell silent.
"Well, on to business," said Crashman Prime. "First off, I'm happy to report that we have found many recruits
to help us against the Splice Masters."
Gyroman Prime nodded, but did not seem pleased.
"Are you telling me that there is bad news as well?" he asked.
Crashman Prime hung his head. "I am afraid that you are correct in that assumption, master. I'm sad to report that
Dr. Wily has begun making Splice Farms not just in Monsteropolis, but, in fact, all over the world. Within a matter of days,
he'll have enough energy to power all of his Splice Masters and conquer the world."
At this, Gyroman Prime turned on his disciple savagely. "This is bad news indeed! We are not prepared! Why didn't
we see this soon-?" He got no further. The rest of his lecture was lost in his coughing and wheezing.
"Please, mind your health," scolded Trio. "I know you think just because you are a robot, you can overcome
such setbacks, but you are in bad condition nevertheless."
Gyroman Prime nodded apologetically. "I'm sorry. I just can't help myself sometimes. When will the Splice Masters
be fully opporational?"
"In a week's time, around 20:05." responded Crashman Prime in a shaken tone.
"You see, this does give us some time to prepare." said Trio.
"Yes," siad Gyroman Prime, "but who knows what Dr. Wily is planning as we speak?"
Meanwhile, at Dr. Wily's Skull Castle, the mad doctor was pacing with excitment. His elite robots were all becoming impatient.
"I can not wait any longer!" declared Enker, "Lord Wilym we await the reason for these so-called Splice
Farms."
"And you shall receive the reason now, Enker," responded the insane scientist. "Behold! The Splice Masters!"
With that, Dr. Wily pulled back the display curtain, reveling two odd-looking Robot Masters. The elites went into an uproar.
"You must be joking!" laughed Terra, "these are just combinations of previous failures. The first one is
just Airman combinded with Shadowman, and the second is a combination of Cutman, Plantman, and Diveman!"
"Didn't you give up trying to combine Robot Masters after that last attempt?" inquired Quint.
"Omegaman was a mistake which I have learned from," responded Wily, "I assure you, Strikeman and Flytrapman
are loyal only to me. What's more, with combined power, they are actually stronger than anything Megaman faced before."
The two Robot Masters soon sprung to life, their red eyes shining over the hysterical crowd.
"Strikeman and Flytrapman reporting for duty!" they said in unison. After these words were spoken, the elites
fell quiet.
"Amazing!" observed Ballade, "they're power levels are second only to your super-secret project."
"Yes they are," said Wily, "and if all goes well, I might not even need my secret project. Soon, the world
will be mine!"
With that, maniacal laughter echoed through the corradors of Skull Castle. It appeared that Megaman would not be able
to handle this threat alone.
